My 5th…

I din realise people actualli bother to read blogs. Just decided to write for fun but apparently some people DO read my blog? Well anyway I’m bored again. Arm is getting better but still unable to strain it. Can’t lift anything heavy otherwise the veins/muscles will strain.. I’m practically  left-handed now. Handle chopsticks quite well with my left hand too. Sheesh getting quite pissed off not being able to drive.

Anyway the topic that I shall write about today is "Cabs are never there when u need one"

Over the past couple of days, I’ve experienced extreme difficulty in flagging a cab. Perhaps I’m going thru a bad patch in waiting for cabs? The average wait for a cabbie is between 45mins to an hr if I’m lucky.. and its not even during peak hour. This further cements my faith that my decision to buy a car was the right one. Unfortunately after my little incident, I’m unable to drive for the time being. Imagine my agony as I look at my glossy black ride while trying my utmost to flag down any cabs that come by…. Perhaps my frustration is unfounded and I’m just impatient but come on’ Singapore is only so big and I have to wait 45mins to flag a cab? In Beijing, I accidentally raise my hand and 4 cabs would have stopped by the road. (Mark Seow 2001;My Witness)

We seriously need to look into this cabbie situation, on 1 hand we have cab drivers saying that there are too many cabs.. But then y can’t we get a cab when we most need 1? Feel free to comment my dear friends. I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling this way.. Until I recover I guess I gotta either A) Wait for a cabbie or B) Take the MRT.  If u ask me, If ur rushing for time.. take the MRT. Waiting time aside, at least it’s not affected by traffic conditions. My 2 cts opinion. =)

Hi Lambert! Hey, certainly hope that you are feeling better now… Anyway, yes, ppl do read blogs… Hahaa… I am one of them. And regarding the cab issue, yes I totally agree with you, it is difficult to get a cab nowadays. I have been working OT this past week (Knock off between 10.30pm to 12am). Hv tried calling for a cab from office in Shenton Way and it usually takes me abt 20mins before I can get a cab. And believe it or not… I have tried calling all the cab companies available and none seems to be able to dispatch a cab at that point in time… And with all the complains coming from cab drivers, I wonder why too… Anyway, take good care then.

    Hey Sharon,

Hw was the HK trip? Eventful ah.. =) Anyways I’ve tried to call cabbie companies for cabs.. All I get to hear is music most of the time.. Can’t these companies afford more operators? M1 never gave me such problems.. NEVER!

The general populace is voyeuristic in nature…so yeah…people do read blogs to kaypoh into other people’s lives.

As for cabs here…well…like we always talked about…some things never changed. But you should be lucky you at least got one in less than an hour, other places where I’ve been, you gotta wait long time and worst, the fares don’t start at $2.40…so don’t complaint
